Advent Readings on the Attributes of Christ

Here's a series of Scripture readings for December that focus on the attributes of Christ, adapted from Redeeming the Season (More Advent Resources):

• Dec. 1st: Jesus is Faithful. He always keeps His promises. - 1 Corinthians 1:9 & 4:17; 2 Thessalonians 3:3
• Dec. 2nd: Jesus is Righteous. He always does what is right. - 1 John 2:1 & 29
• Dec. 3rd: Jesus is Holy. He is completely set apart from sin. - 1 Peter 1:15
• Dec. 4th: Jesus is Forgiving. He forgives our sins. - Psalm 86:5; Colossians 3:13
• Dec. 5th: Jesus is Loving. He loves His own with a perfect, self-sacrificing love. - Romans 8:35-39; Ephesians 2:4-5; Revelation 1:5
• Dec. 6th: Jesus is merciful. He does not treat us as our sins deserve. - Titus 3:5; James 5:11
• Dec. 7th: Jesus is omniscienct. He is all-knowing- seeing and knowing everything that is, that ever has been or that will be. Nothing can be hidden from His sight. - John 1:48
• Dec. 8th: Jesus is omnipresent. He is everywhere. We can never go anywhere where Jesus is not present with us. - Psalm 139:7-12; Matthew 18:20
• Dec. 9th: Jesus is omnipotent. He is all-powerful. He can do all His holy will; nothing is impossible for Jesus. - Matthew 28:18
• Dec. 10th: Jesus is eternal. He lives forever; he has always been and will always be. - Genesis 21:33; Psalm 90:2
• Dec. 11th: Jesus is full of truth. - John 14:6
• Dec. 12th: Jesus is full of wisdom. - Isaiah 11:2
• Dec. 13th: Jesus is compassionate. He cares for His own and is concerned when we suffer. - Mark 1:41; James 5:11
• Dec. 14th: Jesus is just. He can be trusted to do what is right and to uphold justice. - Acts 17:31; Romans 3:25-26
• Dec. 15th: Jesus is long-suffering. He is patient with us. - 1 Timothy 1:16, 2 Peter 3:9
• Dec. 16th: Jesus is kind. - Ephesians 2:7; Titus 3:4-5
• Dec. 17th: Jesus is gentle. - Matthew 21:5; 1 Corinthians 10:1
• Dec. 18th: Jesus is immutable. He cannot be changed and He never changes. - Hebrews 13:8; James 1:17
• Dec. 19th: Jesus is creative. He is the Creator and has created a world of brilliance and beauty. - Genesis 1:26; John 1:3; Colossians 1:16
• Dec. 20th: Jesus is infinite. He has no end. He fills the universe and beyond. - 1 Kings 8:27
• Dec. 21st: Jesus is sovereign. He is the Supreme Ruler over all- King of kings and Lord of lords. - Jude 4; Rev. 19:11-16
• Dec. 22nd: Jesus is friendly. He calls us His friends. - John 15:13-15
• Dec. 23rd: Jesus is full of goodness. - John 10:11; 1 Peter 2:3
• Dec. 24th: Jesus is trustworthy. We can depend on Him! - Psalm 19:7; Psalm 119:138
• Dec. 25th: Jesus is generous. - 2 Corinthians 8:7-9
